Last but not least: Missed calls

There are countless campaigns aimed at discouraging drivers from using their cell phones. However, not all of them are as effective as this road sign campaign from Turkey.

Looking at your cell phone can be deadly. At least when it happens at the wheel. Campaigns from all over the world address the dangers of texting behind the wheel (cf. "Last but not least", 28.10.2014). The fact that typing text messages fatally diverts attention away from the road should be clear by now. Another bad habit is not much less dangerous - but all the more widespread: Checking your smartphone to see what you've missed. But the main thing you miss is what's happening on the street. The McCann Istanbul agency has communicated this with little effort and police permission by preparing particularly safety-relevant traffic signs with "Missed" symbols and corresponding notices.
