Last but not least: Tabloid - yes, no, yes, no
Some want to abolish it, others want to reintroduce it. While Blick wants to say goodbye to the small tabloid format, Deutsche Bildzeitung is on the verge of issuing its publication in the trendy small format.
Some want to abolish it, others want to reintroduce it. While Blick wants to say goodbye to the small tabloid format, its German counterpart - the Bild newspaper - is about to issue its publication in the trendy small format. The Springer publishing house wants to appeal to young readers and commuters. The conventional format is simply an obstacle for some readers, a Bild spokesperson told the news service Kress. The handy edition is to be launched as a supplement to the existing publication, but by no means replace it. To be on the safe side, the publisher is testing the new format in Munich from June 15, 2009 to make sure that it will really appeal to the target group in question.
