Last but not least: StudiVZ denigrated as StasiVZ

A rapper wearing a "Scream" mask attacks the student platform StudiVZ in a homemade music video on YouTube because it wants to market user profiles. At the same time, he promotes an alternative called Kaioo.de. "The war has begun, everyone come to Kaioo". StudiVZ is not amused.

Apparently, the anger among angry StudiVZ users over the marketing plans of StudiVZ owner Holtzbrinck has not yet died down. A video has surfaced on YouTube in which an unknown (and apparently artistically just starting out) rapper in a T-shirt with "StasiVZ" printed on it rails against the student portal. The youngster, wearing a "Scream" mask, compares the marketing of personal data and the disclosure of privacy by StudiVZ with Stasi methods. The aim is to evade them, as he repeatedly sings in a mantra: "My profile, my group, my photos, my friends, my hobbies, my data are gone. My thoughts, my heart, my life, my world is no longer on VZ." At the same time, he and the second person in the video promote the alternative Kaioo.de. Kaioo.de is a nascent networking platform that claims to donate all advertising revenue to charitable organizations. StudiVZ is now considering taking legal action on suspicion of unfair advertising. "We are looking into this," a spokesperson told Wuv.de. Kaioo managing director Thomas Kreye, on the other hand, insists that the creation of the video has nothing to do with his company. Kreye seems to agree with the StasiVZ rapper when he sings: "Ehrlisch, so was unterschtütz isch nischt."
