Last but not least: Social waving

The campaign developed by Saatchi & Saatchi is currently causing a stir on the Internet. Whether this will make it better remains to be seen. "The Posting Tail" is a dog harness equipped with a wagging sensor, camera, processor and Wi-Fi. The highlight: the sensor is apparently designed to recognize whether a dog is wagging out of joy or not. Wagging can have various other meanings in the dog's body language and is generally misinterpreted by many people as joy. If the dog is really happy, it triggers the camera and uploads the picture to Facebook. GPS data included - this is how Pedigree creates a dog joy map.

Presumably the dog doesn't upload the photos automatically, otherwise the joy on the human side would probably be manageable when the dog happily enters the bedroom or bathroom. The question also arises as to whether the harness really needs to be so large - it actually looks more like a "dog coat", which is probably uncomfortable to wear in warm temperatures. Do dogs find the whole thing just as great as humans? If the campaign hadn't been launched on April 5, you might think it was an April Fool's joke. Maybe it's a viral joke. In the meantime, Pedigree shares about Facebook diligently posting photos of dogs that have already had the pleasure of posting tails. And they are quite something. (hae)
