Last but not least: Audience Award for "Homo-Mörgeli"

The Nebelspalter Audience Award for the best caricature of the year goes to Geneva cartoonist Patrick Chappatte for his article on the SVP's setbacks in the NZZ am Sonntag.

The caricature shows the homo-sapiens in a different light, namely as "Homo Blocher", "Homo Zuppiger" and "Homo Mörgeli" in the SVP Historical Museum. Over 200 caricatures by 50 well-known Swiss press cartoonists were available for visitors to choose from for the audience award as part of the annual review exhibition "Gezeichnet 2012" at the Kornhausforum in Bern in December.

Patrick Chappatte's entry received 8 percent of the votes cast, as the organizers announced on Monday.

The annual retrospective exhibition "Gezeichnet" was launched in 2008 and made its first appearance at the Kornhausforum in Bern from December 8 to 16, 2012. With 2250 visitors, the exhibition once again recorded an increase in public interest. In addition to the new venue and the first-ever audience award, the new features of the 2012 edition included the studio stage, where a different press illustrator could be seen at work on each day of the exhibition.
