Last but not least: Le Big Swim
Soccer legend Eric Cantona kept his promise and swam across the English Channel for Kronenbourg. At least in Ogilvy's wonderful commercial.
In June, Manchester United legend Eric Cantona announced he would swim the Channel should 10'000 British consumers admit that French beer Kronenburg is the best lager in the world.

Cantona, who became an actor after his extraordinary soccer career, is still revered in large parts of England. The British love the Frenchman - and they love Kronenbourg. Although France is actually the arch-friend par excellence. But the Kronenbourg served in England's pubs is not really French anyway, because it is brewed in Manchester. In 2014, a Kronenbourg commercial featuring Cantona was meanwhile forbiddenbecause he pretended that the product was made in France.
In August, Cantona made good on his promise and set out to cross the channel that separates England from France. The result is two spots created by Ogilvy & Mather. Kronenbourg may not be the best beer in the world - Cantona, on the other hand, is certainly one of the best testimonials a beer brand could wish for. (hae)
