Last but not least: control freak
SUV drivers have everything under control. At least in their minds—and in the new VW commercial from DDB Canada.
They sit higher, have more space, are stronger and better protected - SUV drivers would have to be. If you sit in an SUV (which is usually not suitable for off-road use), you have ten times the chance of surviving a crash, as the Buffalo University evaluated once. But that's it for the advantages. SUVs are more expensive, thirstier, more cumbersome and more dangerous for other road users than other cars. And many people simply find them a bit ridiculous, especially in the city. But the common SUV driver cares very little about that, because in his tank he is invulnerable anyway. Even when the son-man gets a bit too close to the first date, he retains full control. "The car" does what it's told. Like most cars, actually. But very few are so well sovereign advertised. (hae)
