Last but not least: cats always go

With the cat spot for Netto, Jung von Matt has once again scored a viral hit in Germany.

The ADC Germany demanded at this year's ADC festival, more real content and less cat content. The problem is that cat content always works. And again and again. That also explains why the new spot for the Netto supermarket chain generates a million clicks a day on YouTube: Launched on June 8, it had already been viewed four million times by Sunday. As always, the viral spread is boosted by placements on blogs with a strong reach, and the cats do the rest. For this, the house agency Jung von Matt has recreated a Netto supermarket in the size of a cat. The main characters, led by director Brian Lee Hughes, do the shopping and allude to well-known YouTube cat videos. The cat overdose is broken up by the claim, "Everyone's happy about such low prices." In other words, there are cats here, so that must do as a creative idea. It does. And almost even better: the making-of. Cat thumbs up. (hae)
