Birthdays are meant to be celebrated, but the guest of honor doesn't always enjoy them. For Harald Schmidt, the ARD's planned birthday special for his 50th birthday is nothing short of hell.

Birthdays should be celebrated, but the person being celebrated does not always enjoy it. For Harald Schmidt, the planned ARD birthday show for his 50th birthday is even hell, as he revealed in an interview with the Sächsische Zeitung. For him, it will not be a show, but a wild compilation of his 18 years of television history. A tribute to him, without him being involved. Unfortunately, he can't defend himself against some editor snipping around in his past - the best-paid entertainer on German television alongside Günter Jauch and Thomas Gottschalk simply finds the whole thing dreadful. According to his answers, he doesn't care one way or the other what is covered on television. "I'm a big zapper and like to watch local TV with a focus on things like "Unrestricted level crossing" and "Petting zoo"."
