Last but not least: Frank A. Meyer treats the SVP to an evening of fun
The legal dispute between the SVP and Ringier publicist Frank A. Meyer has been settled. Meyer had sued SVP National Councillor Christoph Mörgeli after the latter accused him of using Nazi vocabulary in his column in Weltwoche.
The legal dispute between the SVP and Ringier publicist Frank A. Meyer has been settled. Meyer had sued SVP National Councillor Christoph Mörgeli after the latter accused him of using Nazi vocabulary in his column in Weltwoche. Mörgeli wrote that Meyer had used terms such as "Führerprinzip", "Führerpartei" and "Propagandaminister" in connection with the SVP in Sonntagsblick. Meyer has since withdrawn his lawsuit against Mörgeli and his party. As no settlement was reached, the Ringier man must pay CHF 5,000 in compensation to both the former Weltwoche publisher Jean Frey and Christoph Mörgeli in addition to the court fee of CHF 3,562.
In a press release issued last week, the SVP thanked the noble donors named Meyer and Mörgeli. It will use the money to finance the 63-member parliamentary group's parliamentary party evening. And so the 10,000 Swiss francs originally demanded by Meyer will now provide the assembled SVP team with plenty to eat. Cheers, Mr. Meyer. This shot backfired.
