Last but not least: Final Times "Finally black"
The Financial Times Deutschland appeared for the last time on Friday after around 13 years: With the mutilated "Final Times" logo, an extensively blackened front page and the words "Finally black".
The words are an allusion to the black figures, which the business newspaper from Hamburg did not write. According to SDA, the issue brought together a selection of the best research, portraits and caricatures. In the editorial, the editors-in-chief said that they wanted to show once again what they had and still had to offer. The FTD accompanied its own demise with the same irony throughout the issue. According to the SDA, the pages were not numbered consecutively, but the reader was continuously informed that the newspaper was coming to an end: The first page, for example, reads "42 to go".
According to SDA, the last issue sold out quickly at many newsstands on Friday. The website is expected to remain online until the end of the year. Unless certain interpretations of the Mayan calendar are correct, in which case just under two weeks remain. (uma)
