Last but not least: Official twitter honored by Oslo
The Oslo Police Department has been recognized for its dry sense of humor on Twitter. For example, according to one tweet, a patrol officer who is knowledgeable about the accordion was dispatched to assess the quality of a street musician’s performance.
The police in the Norwegian capital won the prize for the best tweet of the year at the Norwegian Social Media Days on Tuesday, according to SDA. The officers keep their Twitter community happy with tweets such as:
"We were informed about a disturbance at night with women screaming. We noticed a party of nurses on site. Will be leaving again soon."
Or the officers report on a motorized wedding party that was travelling at walking pace on the freeway. After one of the vehicles involved broke down, they said: "The driver kneels down on a blanket and starts praying. Not sure if that helps."
The Twitter account of the Oslo Police Operations Center (@oslopolitiops) is extremely popular and has almost 80,000 subscribers. Many tweets are shared and commented on by fans. (uma)
