Last but not least: Unemployed for sale
How do you find talented copywriters? By having them write application letters for the unemployed. That's what happened in Belgium.
The Association of Communication Companies Belgium (ACC) is on the lookout for new copywriters for its agencies. In order to find the best, candidates were given a difficult but understandable task: instead of advertising copy for cars, deodorants or smartphones, they were asked to write motivational letters for the unemployed. "Sell the Jobless" Whoever successfully "wrote" a job interview for their "protégé" received a new job as a copywriter as a reward. Killing two birds with one stone, combining the necessary with the useful - and incidentally promoting themselves with the globally acclaimed recruitment campaign. The question is whether someone who is invited to a job interview on the basis of a particularly cleverly written cover letter will be able to meet expectations. Whether the opportunities could be used is unfortunately left open. (hae)
