We have already seen this demonstrated less convincingly: Social distancing is not about staying away from a disease yourself, but about not letting the system escalate. The "Flatten the Curve" campaign uses the "explosive power" of mousetraps to demonstrate the need for a certain social distance. If everyone keeps some distance, the virus has a hard time spreading uncontrollably. Even if it's hard in the current weather and it's so beautiful at the lake.
