Urine Sans
To promote their first album, the Swedish band Pissjar urinated all the letters and published their own font.
You might need to know this: Pissjar is a hardcore punk band. And in English, a "piss jar" is a jar that you urinate in at night because you're too lazy to get up and go to the toilet. Or into which you relieve yourself while driving because you don't want to (or can't) stop.
To promote the album, the band urinated letters on a special canvas frame construction for no less than six months and then photographed the "works of art" within five seconds (before the outlines became invisible). The letters "Pissjar Sans" can be downloaded and installed at Pissjar.com. "For you to use in your wedding invitation, school report or as a company logo for your shitty startup", as the band writes.
At least the promotional campaign has already proved to be quite effective - advertising and marketing portals from all over the world have reported on it in the past few days. Whether the album "Apathy & Cheap Thrills" lives up to the huge and sudden attention, however, will have to be judged by hardcore punk experts. (hae)
