Do good and run over it

Samsung is turning marathon runners in Israel into charitable gamers.

The Tel Aviv Marathon takes place on February 24. This year, Samsung is drawing additional attention to its sponsorship commitment with an interesting charitable idea. As in every marathon, the runners in Tel Aviv will be wearing chips that make timekeeping possible. Samsung and Leo Burnett will be placing coin stickers along the entire route. When a runner runs over a coin, the chip sends a personalized message to Samsung. The total amount collected at the end is transferred in the runner's name as a donation to charity. Sounds motivating and inspiring. A "charity marathon" in its purest form. (hae)
