Sweet world

Ben & Jerry's wants to make the world a better place again with a lovely animated commercial.

Ben and Jerry's - this is the ice cream brand that is best kept out of the freezer. It's too good not to be eaten at the first opportunity. And the second cone is best eaten right afterwards. The idea of Cookie Dough & Co. can only have come from the USA. Unconditional taste optimization without regard for calories.

The company, which is now part of Unilever, is known for its social commitment. It runs climate protection projects, is committed to sustainable dairy farming, uses free-range eggs and has 100% climate-neutral production in Europe.

Ben & Jerry's UK is underlining this claim with a new campaign. It is probably no coincidence that it was published a few days before the US elections. The message is simple: an open, peaceful society starts with mutual respect - regardless of an individual's background.

Created by the Nice and Serious agency, the commercial for the sour and sweet fruit is eye-catching, not least because of the background music. The song "One Sweet World" was composed especially for the film by singer Ben Cocks and produced by Adelphoi Music. The soundtrack changes from melancholy to uplifting and hopeful over the course of the commercial. The song has been used since the launch of the Europe-wide campaign across all channels offered for sale.

Now all that remains to be seen is whether a lemon will soon be in charge in the USA. And if so, whether it will really remain as sour as feared. (hae)
