Like machine
In Russia, there are vending machines where you can buy fake likes for your social media profiles.

You rub your eyes in amazement, but apparently the vending machines are real - and widespread. Not only can you print out photos directly from Instagram and VKontakte, the Russian version of Facebook, but you can also add likes to them for a little money. Or buy followers. At least, that's what Russian journalist Alexey Kovalev claims on Twitter - even when asked several times by other users whether the story is true:
Russia takes the worst excesses of capitalism to the extreme, so here's a vending machine in a mall for buying likes for your Instagram pics pic.twitter.com/ZZt189opgd

The Google Translate app translates the sentence below as "Buy huskies". The Russian word for "huskies" is displayed in Latin letters as "layki". What is meant is the Husyk-like, Russian dog breed Laika - the same pronunciation as for the plural of the English-language term "like".
In the comments to said post, Kovalev also describes other Russian Instagram trends: renting oversized rose bouqets for the ultimate Instagram staging (via Themoscowtimes.com). For around $17, you can take a picture of yourself with a 100-rose bouquet for ten minutes.
And for those who want even more of an appearance than a reality in the social media, $850 guarantees 150,000 Instagram followers and up to 1,500 likes for every photo posted. In this country, you could almost pass for an influencer and be booked for well-paid campaigns. (hae)
