"It's not a movie, it's a commercial"

Tourism Australia has produced a campaign featuring a fake sequel to the 1986 Australian comedy *Crocodile Dundee*, starring Paul Hogan—reportedly for 27 million US dollars. The reveal came in a commercial aired during the Super Bowl.

The first film in the successful Australian series "Crocodile Dundee" was released in cinemas in 1986. A fourth installment now appeared to be in the works, as a corresponding trailer was circulating online for a while. Since the Super Bowl 2018, however, it has been clear that this was not a trailer for a real film. It was a fake trailer for a commercial.

According to media reports, the campaign with a one-minute commercial during the biggest advertising event of the year cost the Australian Tourism Association a whole 27 million dollars. Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride play the main characters - and stars such as Hugh Jackman and Russell also appear in the trailer.

Will it be worth the investment? The shots of Australia are already very tempting: movie - uh... commercial off! (ank)
