A bank from Kazakhstan placed a nine-hour commercial

In order to convince the Kazakh population of the advantages of mobile payment, the agency RA Kombinat came up with an excitingly boring campaign.

The most convenient way to transfer money today is with a smartphone. Twint, Apple Pay - or FortePay in Kazakhstan. However, the population is not yet aware of the advantages of online banking and mobile payment and is hesitant to use the new technologies. This does not only have disadvantages, but also advantages. To show that a cash payment can be a lengthy process, in November 2018 the RA Kombinat agency had a man drive almost nine hours from Almaty to Shymkent with a sum of money - the two cities are 800 kilometers apart.

To turn the boring ride into a happening, numbers were repeatedly displayed, which resulted in a telephone number at the end. The first person to write a message to the number won a million tenge. That's not quite a million, but it's still a good two and a half thousand Swiss francs.

The film, which can still be viewed in full length on YouTube (see below), now has over one million views.
