Thunderstorm

A filmmaker spent a month chasing thunderstorms with his high-speed camera. The result is breathtaking.

Dustin Farrell drove almost 1000 kilometers (!) a day for a month in the summer of 2017, chasing storms. He captured them with his Phantom Flex4K - a camera that costs over 100,000 dollars and can record 1000 fps, among other things. The result of the trip was 10 terabytes of film data. And a good three minutes, which Farrell uploaded to Vimeo.

The lightning that the filmmaker captured is impressive. The epic music would probably not even be necessary - nature is definitely epic enough. (hae)
