Office dog against office stress

The Dutch health insurance company Menzis encourages people to adopt a dog and bring it to work.

Provided they are allowed there. Which wouldn't actually be a bad idea, because dogs are real stress killers in the workplace, creating a good atmosphere and relaxed interaction. And they could also be used as part of occupational health management, because where dogs "work", people get sick less. This has also been confirmed by science in various studies, e.g. this one here. The reason for the health-promoting effect is the hormone oxytocin. It relieves stress, lowers blood pressure, has a calming, anti-inflammatory and digestive effect, increases social skills, promotes trust and reduces depression. The interactions between dog and owner generate the release of oxytocin, both in the dog and the owner (Source). So the idea of keeping stray dogs in the office rather than in a shelter is obvious. DDB & Tribal had it. The result: win-win. And if you include the company, it's even a win-win-win. (hae)
