Bucket List
Advertising on Spotify: KFC is capitalizing on the fact that the company has been mentioned countless times in song lyrics.

Whether it's "Touch the Sky" by Kanye West, "Ode to" by the Beastie Boys or "You Be Illin'" by Run DMC - countless songs in hip-hop/black music history have one thing in common: their lyrics feature the fast-food chain KFC, which specializes in chicken. The fact that brands are mentioned in rap lyrics has a long tradition. The most frequently mentioned brand in the genre, by the way, is Gucci - followed by Nike and Prada.
Whereas in the past some brands were more interested in the unwanted attention, KFC is now making advertising capital out of its longstanding lyrics presence. And with a touch of guerrilla: Spotify is hijacked and advertised for the ultimate KFC playlist called "Bucket Bangers. The posters, which (indirectly) advertise the playlist, consist only of the corresponding text lines and are hung "wildly" in France. The campaign was created by the Sid Lee agency.
