BETC creates two kilometer long musical notes for Peugeot

An elaborate production: BETC Paris has the new Peugeot 508 play the piano.

Visually, Peugot has made a more than solid impression with the 508. Reason enough to once again use the bigger advertising ladle. BETC collaborated with composer and pianist Riopy, who wrote the music for the Oscar-winning films "The Danish Girl" and "The Shape of Water," among others. The challenge: a composition that can be played by cars. At the wheel: Riopy.

Special laser sensors on the underbody detected the tones and played the corresponding sound. Exactly what the performance sounded like remains a secret from Peugeot. Because the casemovie presumably features the original version from tape. This also applies to the music of the orchestra, which was placed at the edge of the track. Once again, a lot of casemovie and just as many unanswered questions.

Nevertheless, the campaign has produced the greatest musical scores of all time. In the end, it's always about storytelling somehow. 190 notes, 1.9 kilometers of track on a military base in the Croatian mountains. According to the agency, a release of the work via Warner Music is even being considered. Whether buyers can be found for it remains to be seen. (hae)
