Queuing is so stone age

Big hit: French supermarket chain Monoprix uses a funny commercial to promote easy payment via app.

There is almost nothing more grueling than standing in line and waiting for your turn. Even prehistoric man had to experience this in the Stone Age when the mammoth was cut up and distributed. The two-minute online commercial by the Rosapark agency shows a particularly clever example of our prehistoric ancestors. The young man thinks nothing of submitting to the queuing rules and tricks the system without further ado. And the devious plan almost worked.

Queuing is also a thing of the past in the supermarket. Thanks to digitalization, customers are doing more and more of the work that previously had to be done by staff. They scan the products with their smartphone as they shop and pay with a click. Instead of going to the checkout, you walk straight out of the store. Unlike the commercial, this development is no laughing matter - especially not for the employees, who will eventually no longer be needed at all.
