45 degrees - and not a degree less
Getting ketchup out of a glass bottle—it's tricky. Heinz shows how it's done right in Canada.

There aren't many reasons to buy ketchup in a glass bottle. Two, to be exact. First, glass is more environmentally friendly than plastic. Secondly, the glass bottle is the classic, for many people right packaging for ketchup and looks much neater than uncharitable plastic.
In terms of user-friendliness, however, glass leaves room for improvement. Dosing is more difficult, residues are less easy to remove from the bottle, and use often becomes a science. Too slow? Too fast? Too much? The secret lies in the "pouring angle." According to Heinz, this should ideally be 45 degrees - and has now been staged by the Canadian agency Rethink. A limited special edition offers a practical angle aid: The label is stuck on so that it is correctly displayed at exactly 45 degrees.
Heinz had to be 150 years old before a creative forge finally came up with this idea. But it was about time.
