Wirz for Suva: Preventing bicycle accidents together
Wirz has created a new prevention campaign for Suva that playfully illustrates how the consequences of bicycle accidents can make daily life more difficult. At the same time, it offers simple tips on how cyclists can stay safer on the road.
Cycling is very popular in Switzerland, but it also involves considerable risks. Every year, around 27,000 employees are involved in road traffic accidents in Switzerland - 85% of which are self-inflicted accidents. With the support of WIRZ, Suva wants to reduce this figure and prevent as many bicycle accidents as possible in the future. With the new bicycle accident prevention campaign, which was developed and implemented by WIRZ, Suva is drawing attention to the risks and taking a preventive approach with humor and a twinkle in the eye.
"For me, the bicycle campaign shows how creative collaboration creates diversity and makes our prevention message tangible on all channels." Marc Winterhalder, Head of Marketing Communication at Suva
Prevention with a clear message
The campaign shows people with visible accident consequences who are impaired in typical everyday situations. This makes it clear in a vivid way: bicycle accidents spoil everyday life.
In this way, Suva also underlines its basic attitude: "Life is good as long as nothing happens."
In addition to the main message, the campaign conveys three simple but effective tips: look ahead, think ahead and make eye contact. This should help cyclists to better recognize risks and adapt their behaviour in road traffic.
The campaign will run from the end of September to the beginning of November across various channels: from traditional posters and DOOH screens to online and display ads as well as all social media platforms. The presence in public spaces is complemented by eye-catching special formats such as bicycle saddle covers and bike boxes.
Supporting app
The campaign also refers to the "Cycle Track" app from Suva. This tracks your own bike rides, identifies tricky spots and provides personal tips for safer cycling. This allows cyclists to actively improve their safety.
