Viral film calls for psychotherapy to be included in basic health insurance coverage
In Switzerland, nearly one in two people experiences a mental illness at some point in their lives. Based on this finding, the Campaign Forum for the Federation of Swiss Psychologists (FSP) has produced a film.
It is used on social media to draw attention to the petition "www.huerden-abbauen.ch" to draw attention to this. In outpatient psychotherapy, there are access barriers that lead to supply bottlenecks and thus to waiting times of up to six months. The petition therefore calls for psychological psychotherapy to be included in the basic health insurance cover if it is carried out on a doctor's orders. This is a sensitive and controversial issue in terms of cost debates and rising health insurance premiums.
The campaign is going extremely well and has exceeded all expectations with almost 195,000 views for the video on the FSP Facebook page and more than 60,000 signatures for the petition so far, according to a press release.
