Swisscom refreshes hikers - but only those with reception

Last weekend, hikers in the popular Weisstannental valley in the canton of St. Gallen couldn't believe their eyes: a vending machine suddenly appeared in the middle of the mountains. Anyone could get a cool free drink there using their smartphone. Anyone with internet access. The catch: only Swisscom has a network in this exact location - unfortunately, all other providers do not.

It quickly becomes clear that many hikers have no network at this particular location and are therefore left empty-handed. But of course one hiker helps another and generous Swisscom customers gave a round to all those who had no reception. The unusual campaign not only quickly became a topic of conversation in the mountains, but also online. Many users shared the vending machine on social networks. A clever campaign by Swisscom to prove its advantage for customers in a likeable way. After all, Swisscom is always particularly strong when it comes to network coverage.
