This is how the Swiss AIDS Federation encourages conversations

The new campaign for Dr. Gay (Swiss AIDS Foundation) highlights the importance of mental health in the queer community and aims to encourage people to talk about their feelings. WhatsApp prompts are also designed to support this effort.

Exclusion, discrimination or social isolation are also omnipresent in the LGBTQIA+ community. And here, too, they are too often hushed up. With sometimes profound consequences for the mental health of those affected. Dr.Gay is now bringing the issue to the table. "Let's talk. About us": this is how the awareness campaign calls on people to dare to take the first step and talk openly about what ails, unsettles and frightens them. Because talking helps and strengthens your mental health - and that's especially true for conversations with people you care about.

WhatsApp suggestions for conversations

With authentic images from real friendships, the campaign addresses the queer target group honestly and at eye level. It encourages people to jump over their own shadow and venture out of their "mental cave. In addition to classic on- and offline measures, the campaign offers on drgay.ch/talk inspiring WhatsApp suggestions for courageous conversations about feelings, worries and hidden desires. Of course, it also offers info and contacts to psychological specialists who have an open ear and helpful advice.
