There are around 2.5 million snow sports enthusiasts in Switzerland - that's more than a quarter of the resident population. Unfortunately, this popular hobby also involves risks: Every winter, an average of 65,000 members of the Swiss population have accidents on slopes in Switzerland and abroad. More than half of those involved in accidents (33,700) are insured with Suva and incur costs of around 265 million Swiss francs.

To counteract the high number of accidents, Suva is launching a large-scale snow sports campaign this winter. The focus is on the Snowsports Check - an online tool that allows snowsports enthusiasts to reduce their risk of injury.

The nationwide campaign for this comes from the Ruf Lanz agency, which has been responsible for SuvaLiv prevention campaigns for many years. Most recently, the creative agency promoted the online soccer test on behalf of SuvaLiv. The film "Ein Fussballstadion voller Verletzter" (A football stadium full of injured people) was voted spot of the year in the SRF audience vote and crowned with the Gold-Edi, the highest Swiss award for advertising films.

The centerpiece of the new snowsports campaign is a film that captivates with a surprising approach to the topic and a rousing realization. Using the example of an auction, it shows that snow sports accidents can have unpleasant consequences. That's why it's better to do the snow sports check of Suva. The film runs nationally on TV as well as online. Targeted posters in Swiss ski resorts and advertisements in selected titles round off the campaign.
