Saatchi & Saatchi brings the rainforest to the real estate market
BOS Switzerland and Saatchi & Saatchi are using a guerrilla campaign to draw attention to the urgent need to protect the Borneo rainforest. Fictitious real estate advertisements on platforms draw attention to the threat to the habitat of the Borneo orangutan.

Just recently, thousands of Zurich residents demonstrated against the lack of living space. Now, certain real estate advertisements are offering a hectare of rainforest for just 40 francs, which at first glance misleads potential buyers. The real message is that a donation of 40 francs can protect one hectare of rainforest for a year, which has a direct impact on the conservation of the habitat of endangered orangutans. The guerrilla campaign is intended to "charmingly play on the desires of the market", as stated in a press release.
However, the Borneo Orangutan Survival Switzerland campaign is not only intended to generate donations: "The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the situation of orangutans and their habitat," explains BOS Switzerland Managing Director Dr. Sophia Benz. The importance of the rainforests as CO2 reservoirs is also emphasized.
