New for Child Protection Switzerland: It can affect any child

In a new campaign, Neu Creative Agency and Child Protection Switzerland are warning of the dangers of online child sexual abuse.

The internet is not a safe space for children and young people either: almost half of all young people experience sexual harassment online, and on many platforms it only takes minutes for them to be confronted with paedocriminal messages. This reality is frightening - and at the same time difficult to see. This is precisely where the new campaign by Child Protection Switzerland and the Neu Creative Agency comes in.

The focus is on a film that makes the invisible danger visible. Stylized speech bubbles, which stand for the problematic contacts made by paedophiles, appear in an idyllic housing estate, creating a threatening scenario. The film impressively shows that no space is sheltered enough to fully protect children from this danger.

The ad is running throughout Switzerland on various digital channels and on out-of-home screens and is supported by a broad alliance of partners - including the national platform "Youth and Media" of the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO), Swiss Crime Prevention (SCP) and the cantonal and municipal police forces, the Federal Office of Police (fedpol), the Network for Digital Investigation Support for Cybercrime (NEDIK) and with the support of various media companies.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness among parents, teachers and the general public: Because no child can protect themselves alone. Adults have a responsibility to provide information, remain vigilant and create safe digital spaces. The campaign also refers to clickandstop.ch, the national reporting and advice center against online paedocrime.

Alongside the awareness-raising campaign, Child Protection Switzerland is calling for a stronger legal framework to better protect children in the digital space. After all, children can only be effectively protected if society, authorities and politicians work together.
