"Smart heads protect themselves" - wearing a helmet even when sledding
In a joint prevention campaign by Concordia and the BFU (Swiss Council for Accident Prevention), Quade & Zurfluh shows that smart people protect themselves even when sledding.

Smart heads protect themselves" - this motto has been adopted by skiers and snowboarders. 9 out of 10 winter sports enthusiasts on Swiss slopes now wear a helmet. Anyone still skiing down the slopes with a woolly hat will attract negative attention.
The picture is different for sledging. This winter sport, which is popular with the whole family, is often practiced without a helmet. This has consequences: Every year, an average of almost 7300 people are injured while sledging in Switzerland.
To ensure that falls are less serious or can be prevented altogether, sledgers should be made aware of this. Concordia has launched a new campaign in collaboration with the BFU - Swiss Council for Accident Prevention under the slogan "Smart heads protect themselves - even when sledging". It includes tips on the right equipment, sledging technique and behavior.
The campaign includes a tour through the Swiss sledging areas. In addition to tips on the right sledging equipment, the tour includes games, competitions and instant prizes for the whole family. The sledging tour starts at the end of February in Zweisimmen BE. Further information about the tour and safe sledging can be found here.
