Instagram sitter: Jung von Matt/Limmat develops Digital Detox service for Ibis Switzerland
«Relax we post» is the name of the new service that will be offered to Ibis hotel guests in Zurich and Geneva starting in November as part of a pilot project. An Instagram sitter takes care of the guest’s Instagram account while the guest enjoys their city trip without digital stress and with all their senses.
Millennials rarely experience special moments without their smartphones. "Pics or it didn`t happen" is their mantra. This causes stress, especially on vacation. As a study by The Independent shows, as many as 40 percent of travelers choose their vacation destination based on "instagramability." For some, the social media stress becomes so great that they opt for digital detox. Lara Gut, for example, deleted her Instagram account last week.
The "Relax we post" service developed by Jung von Matt/Limmat for Ibis Switzerland is designed to help guests relax on vacation. Established influencers look after the hotel guest's Instagram profile so that they can experience the city without stress. Starting next weekend, the service will be launched exclusively in Zurich and Geneva for a month.

Professionals as Instagram sitters
Jung von Matt/Limmat developed a customized influencer marketing campaign for the launch of the new service: well-known influencers take on the job of Instagram sitter. They include influencer icon Sylwina, Sara Leutenegger (former contestant of Germany`s Next Topmodel) and Geneva lifestyle blogger Cristina Gheiceanu. The Instagram sitter curates the guest`s Instagram channel throughout the weekend. He posts photos or videos and creates Instagram Stories. If desired, he also exchanges ideas with the followers in the comments.
The "Relax we post" service is free of charge for the time being on weekends between November 3 and December 2 for all 17 Ibis, Ibis Styles and Ibis budget of the cities of Geneva and Zurich bookable.
