Hanging in the HB: Edelweiss vacation flights for the biggest sloths
Whoever dressed up as a sloth at the HB and held onto a branch the longest could win flights to Costa Rica. The promotion was organized by the vacation airline Edelweiss.

On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, hanging was the order of the day in the main hall of Zurich's main train station. Under the motto "Hang in there", passers-by could win one of three free flights for two to Costa Rica with a little courage and self-irony and a lot of physical effort. To do this, they had to put on a sloth costume and hold on to a horizontal branch for as long as possible with arms and legs stretched out.

The trials of the contestants were broadcast live on news portals such as 20 minutes, View and Watson streamed. Presenter Patrick Hässig commented on the - sometimes quite helpless - contortions and conducted interviews with test subjects. As "show hanger", presenter Linda Gwerder gave her best. "Actually, I need action and movement every day, I'm really not a sloth," the Zurich native said with a laugh. "But I think the animals are underestimated. As an avid water sportswoman, my arms are reasonably well trained, but I'm pretty sure: after this sloth experience, I'll have some serious muscle soreness."
Contest participants become part of the advertising
Incidentally, online videos are produced from the trials of the day, which are used as banner campaigns. For example, Edelweiss advertises for Costa Rica with real Zurich sloths.
