Fair losers: Ogilvy and Ford congratulate the winner of Le Mans
Despite not winning this year, Ford congratulates the Le Mans winner on its success. The ad was created by Ogilvy & Mather Zurich.
After the brilliant comeback at last year's 24-hour race in Le Mans, Ford would have liked to have repeated the feat this year. Unfortunately, the new Ford GT did not manage to win the GTE Pro category (production-based racing cars) for the second time. As a good loser, they wanted to congratulate this year's winner on his success with an advertisement.
Ogilvy & Mather Zurich was once again responsible for the creation and design of this advertisement. They were inspired by the motivation triggered by a competitor's victory in the Ford GT: Namely, to give it their all the next time in order to stand at the top of the podium again. The result makes one of the most beautiful racing cars of its generation make a very telling promise.
