Brinkertlück launches collective cry for help against violence against women

Together with the Zurich Women’s Center, Brinkertlück Switzerland organized the first collective call for help against violence against women on Friday. The event was part of the global initiative «16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence» and is accompanied by a social media campaign launched by the Zurich Women’s Center.

Together with the Women's Center Zurich, Brinkertlück Switzerland mobilized several hundred people to make a loud statement against violence against women. Together, they shouted for exactly 15 seconds on Friday - one second for each victim of femicide in Switzerland in 2022. Originally, 14 seconds were planned, but two days before the action, another victim was unfortunately added. This underlines the urgency and topicality of the issue of femicide in Switzerland.

"This year's focus of the global '16 Days Against Violence Against Women' campaign is dedicated to femicide. But we also cried out for all women who experience violence at home or have experienced sexual violence."

In order to underline the topicality of the issue, Brinkertlück Switzerland also realized several animated subjects for a social media campaign in addition to the scream action, which is now running after the action until the end of the initiative. These subjects show that even in the supposedly perfect Switzerland, many women have to experience violence every day. Not necessarily in public spaces, but mostly within their own four walls.
