Lidl and Tomorrowland Partnership: Freshness Amid Festival Fever

Lidl and Tomorrowland are launching a long-term strategic partnership. Starting with the summer festival in July 2026 in Boom, Belgium, Lidl will operate a pop-up store, a bakery, and fresh food stations right on the festival grounds.

Through a long-term strategic partnership, Lidl and Tomorrowland aim to demonstrate that the food retail industry and international festival culture can be meaningfully combined. According to a press release, the Lidl-Tomorrowland partnership launched on June 18, 2026, and will initially span five festival editions—including Tomorrowland in Belgium and Tomorrowland Winter in France.

Pop-up Store, Bakery, and Fresh Food in Boom

As early as the summer festival in July 2026 in Boom, Belgium, Lidl plans to set up a pop-up store for festivalgoers, as well as a bakery and dedicated fresh-food stations offering fresh fruit. According to the announcement, the on-site product range will include everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to snacks and select non-food items. The bakery will complement the offering with fresh bake-off items. This is intended to underscore Lidl’s commitment to making fresh, high-quality food accessible to as many people as possible—even at large-scale events.

Tomorrowland is considered one of the world’s best-known and most-attended music festivals, attracting hundreds of thousands of people from numerous countries each year. According to a press release, this international scope and the festival’s unifying spirit form the basis for the strategic partnership with Lidl.

Robin Ruschke from the marketing department at Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG commented on the partnership: «Tomorrowland brings together people from different countries and cultures. It is precisely this sense of togetherness, the passion, and the positive energy that make this partnership particularly interesting to us.»

Circular Economy as Part of the Lidl Tomorrowland Partnership

In addition to the food offerings, the partnership also places a strong emphasis on sustainability. Prezero, part of the Schwarz Group, is working with Tomorrowland to optimize waste management at the festival grounds. According to the press release, the goal of the partnership is to systematically preserve valuable raw materials, reduce CO₂ emissions, and bring the circular economy to life for an international community. Prezero is acting as a driver of change—leveraging industrial scalability and digital transparency within the Schwarz ecosystem.

The festival grounds, where tens of thousands of people gather, would become temporary metropolises—and at the same time serve as a European flagship project for the use of recycled materials and resource sovereignty.

Bjorn Declerck, International Head of Partnerships at Tomorrowland, sees the collaboration as an opportunity to enhance the festival experience: «Tomorrowland is based on a sense of togetherness, a positive outlook on life, and sharing unforgettable moments.» According to Declerck, the partnership with Lidl is intended to help festivalgoers enjoy every moment even more—from sharing meals and discovering new products to showing consideration and respect for one another throughout the entire event.
