Update implements relaunch of Aids.ch for World Aids Day
On World AIDS Day, Update implemented a comprehensive relaunch for the website Aids.ch, the information and advice portal of the Swiss AIDS Federation (AHS) for HIV/AIDS sufferers. The new website is based on the complete solution "Verbands.net" and relies on "less is more".
Visitors to a website are often overwhelmed by the immense range of information on offer. This is also the case with Aids.ch, which has grown both in breadth and depth after 13 years of operation and continuous expansion. As part of the "Relaunch 2019" project, which went online just in time for World Aids Day on December 1, the website's design, structure and content were thoroughly revised and reduced. And yet, those seeking advice and information can still find all relevant information on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infectious diseases in four languages.
In addition to streamlining the structure and implementing a contemporary and, of course, responsive design that is committed to the motto "form follows function", the focus of the relaunch was on setting up a central, comprehensive address database. In addition to the regional offices of the Swiss Aids Federation, this lists all counseling, testing and treatment centers in Switzerland as well as interesting and helpful links on the topic. The addresses can be filtered individually by category. Visitors who are not familiar with Swiss geography can also use a location search function, which displays the available addresses in the immediate vicinity based on the current position of the device being used.
The fundamental restructuring of the AHS website was also used for a CMS changeover. The complete solution "Verbands.net" based on the content management framework "Processwire" is now used as the technical foundation. To meet the wishes and requirements of AHS, individual "Verbands.net" modules were modified and new site elements and functions were developed, including for the front page and the connection to the externally operated store, which now automatically handles all design, layout and structural changes.
Update has been supporting the AHS in its online activities since 2002. The new Aids.ch website is the fourth version that the Zurich-based agency has had the pleasure of realizing together with the AHS managers.
