Swisscom expands filter against spam calls

Unwanted sales calls remain a nuisance—but Swisscom customers are increasingly well protected against them. Since 2016, the call filter has been blocking hundreds of thousands of spam calls every day. Swisscom has now further expanded this protection and introduced additional features.

Advertising calls are still booming. Swisscom's call filter provides effective protection against this. In October alone, the filter was able to block around 8.4 million unwanted spam calls - twice as many as in March of this year. In recent months, the Callfilter, as communicated in MarchThe new service was gradually activated for all existing private mobile customers of the private label. They were informed of the activation by text message. This means that all private mobile customers now also automatically benefit from the proven protection of the call filter - without any action on their part. In the first quarter of 2026, automatic activation will also follow for the second and third brands (Wingo, Migros Mobile and Coop Mobile). This means that the call filter will be activated as standard for all Swisscom mobile offers (including prepaid) in future and will protect customers.

Call filter is being expanded: New blocking options also available for mobile

Since October, mobile customers have also been able to benefit from the "block anonymous calls" and "block calls without an originating number" functions, which are popular with landline customers. Previously, these were only available on the fixed network. Customers can now also use My Swisscom to specify which calls they want to allow on their cell phone - for even more control and security.

Proven protection thanks to intelligent technology

The Swisscom Callfilter automatically detects and blocks unwanted advertising calls using modern algorithms and a constantly updated database. New telephone numbers and suspicious call patterns are continuously analyzed to provide customers with the best possible protection at all times. In addition, up to 200 numbers can be added to a personal block list.
