Swiss is equipping its entire fleet with satellite-based high-speed Internet from the provider Starlink. The Swiss premium airline is thus implementing a Lufthansa Group program designed to significantly improve the in-flight Internet connection. For many travelers, a high-performance Internet connection on board is becoming increasingly important.

Streaming and cloud working are becoming standard

With the new technology, Swiss is bringing fast, satellite-based internet on board and significantly expanding its digital offering during the flight. Thanks to higher bandwidth and speed, streaming, cloud-based work and other high-speed applications will become the new standard during the flight. This should further develop the premium travel experience on board Swiss flights in the long term.

Free offer for status customers

The service will be free of charge for all status customers and Travel ID users - across all travel classes. The installation in the aircraft will take time, as the aircraft have to be converted during operation. The entire Lufthansa Group fleet is to be equipped with the new internet service by the end of 2029.

When the new options will actually be available on which Swiss aircraft is currently part of the ongoing planning. Further details will follow in the course of 2026. Swiss is equipping both its short-haul and long-haul fleets with the new technology.
