City of Zug moves into the Metaverse
If you'd like to visit the city of Zug, you don't necessarily have to do so in person. Zug is now the first Swiss city to be publicly available in the metaverse and thus digitally accessible.

The project is part of Zug's digitalization strategy and will open up new opportunities for art, culture and interaction. "With the Metaverse, we are creating an innovative approach to the city of Zug - open, barrier-free and future-oriented," explains City Clerk Martin Würmli.
According to the press release, the public as well as clubs and organizations can borrow VR glasses from the Zug library and meet in a variety of virtual spaces for creative exchange. Whether it's the city's art collection, a meeting room for discussions or a rooftop bar - the city in the public metaverse makes these places accessible to everyone.
The Zug Metaverse is available via the Spatial.io platform. Interested parties can also rent the digital premises of the city of Zug on request. (Dajana Dakic/rja)
