Luna Tales: addvanto turns children into heroes with AI-supported children's stories

Zurich-based marketing agency addvanto is launching Luna Tales, a web application that transforms AI-supported children's stories into an interactive family experience. On www.luna-tales.com parents and grandparents can create personalized stories together with children between the ages of four and twelve - in which the children themselves play the leading roles. The aim: to turn screen time into creative imagination time and family time together.

Your own story with just a few clicks

Luna Tales is deliberately designed to be easy to use. Parents use a selfie to create an avatar that visually integrates the child as the main character of the story. They then choose names and characteristics for personal companions who support the child on their adventures, as well as the location where the story should take place - whether outer space, pirate island or fairyland. Parents can also decide which values such as courage, friendship, gratitude, trust, curiosity or honesty should take center stage. The length of the story can also be flexibly adapted.

The generated stories can be read aloud or played as an audio experience via an audio function. According to addvanto, uploaded images for avatar creation are deleted immediately; data security and data protection are guaranteed.

Three-column AI system in the background

Technologically, addvanto relies on a three-column AI system for Luna Tales. The image processing algorithms make it possible to create avatars using selfies. The narratives are not put together from prefabricated text modules, but are generated by an AI specially trained for children's content - always as completely new, self-contained stories. Emotional, high-quality voices are used for the read-aloud function: the AI recognizes the context of the story and adjusts the emphasis accordingly to create a calming or exciting atmosphere. Luna Tales is optimized as a pure web application for mobile browsers and is ready to use immediately.

AI-supported children's stories as a catalyst for family bonding

addvanto CEO Stefan Planzer describes the project as follows: «We want to show that parents can use digitalization to stimulate their children's imagination and promote creativity. At a time when children often sit passively in front of screens, we are using precisely this medium to take storytelling for parents into a new dimension and at the same time bring children back into their own imagination.» He continues: «Luna Tales is not a substitute for reading aloud, but a catalyst for shared adventures. When a child sees their own avatar experiencing a story about courage and friendship, it creates a whole new form of emotional connection to the content.»

Steven Toma, Technology Consultant at addvanto and a key co-developer of Luna Tales, adds: «The psychological effect of being the main character in a story is immense. With Luna Tales, we make values tangible for children instead of just explaining them.»
