Small Swiss casinos cannot afford to enter online gambling
Some Swiss casinos that would like to enter the online gambling market cannot afford to do so. Smaller operators that posted losses in 2017 are still considering entering the market and are waiting.

This is reported by the Handelszeitung. The background to this is that the requirements for Swiss casinos to obtain an online gaming license are high: 3 million francs for each license per location and at least 20 percent of equity from gross gaming revenue. Not all locations in Switzerland currently meet these requirements, according to the newspaper's research.
The casino association says: "The capital requirements are accepted." Only large casinos such as Swiss Casinos and Grand Casino Baden are determined to launch an online offering in the second half of the year. With the exception of Casino Interlaken, which is expecting "12 to 15 million gross gaming revenue in the second full financial year", none of the casinos are willing to comment on investment costs and revenue expectations.
