AI in storytelling, film and photography: how can you use it cleverly?

Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly made its way into the world and is now influencing fields such as storytelling, film, and photography. It is not only a much-discussed topic but also an integral part of media, platforms, and events. Many people are therefore wondering how they can best use AI in their communications.

The topic of AI is omnipresent and almost every event revolves around it. As curiosity grows, so do uncertainties. The sheer volume of new tools that are constantly being released can be overwhelming.

Even if the tools are fun, it is important to handle AI responsibly. Because, as we all know, with power comes responsibility. Since artificial intelligence can be used like an efficient assistant, it is up to each individual to use it cleverly, but also sustainably, transparently and fairly.

At this year's WebStage Masters, Pascal Richard from Sony Switzerland, the Austrian photographer and digital artist Mathias Kniepeiss and Timo Wäschle from Corpmediahow you can make clever use of AI in corporate communications.

WebStage Masters is the largest social media marketing conference in Switzerland, which will take place for the sixth time on November 8 and 9. For the first time, the conference will be held in the breathtaking mountain setting of Engelberg - the village can be reached from all major cities in less than two hours! AI-based tools are so easy and intuitive to use that the input of a few words can produce a fascinating or even terrifyingly good result. Thus, the rapid development of artificial intelligence has catapulted the world of storytelling, film and photography into an exciting and new era. One in which story, orchestration and, above all, impact matter more than ever.

If you don't see artificial intelligence as a replacement, but as an assistant, you can use it very cleverly. This is not only true for ChatGPT, Midjourney and co, but also for cameras like the Sony ZV-E1. Functions like autoframing, eye autofocus and camera stabilization were something we filmmakers and photographers had to learn. Now, thanks to built-in AI, you too - regardless of your photography or film experience - can take impressive shots. The camera automatically detects the main subject, focuses on the eyes, and stabilizes the image.

The temptation is great to use all available tools to achieve better results. That's why it's more important than ever to know your story and content and be able to provide it strategically. Because the fact that you can create content no longer leads to differentiation.

Rather, it is the clever staging and orchestration of the story, the chosen communication method and the look-and-feel that make the content unique, create the desired proximity and trigger the desired actions.

What artificial intelligence needs is content. Your content, your stories, your human-empathetic side. That's why it's worth investing in yourself, your story and a qualitative evergreen content stock, i.e. a storyworld. Because the AI needs it.

So what are you waiting for: Don't see AI as the enemy, but integrate and take advantage of the opportunities it offers you. It will be worth it for you.
