The year 2017 started for IAB Switzerland with the successful first edition of the digital marketing industry event D:PULSE at the Volkshaus. Already in the first year, over 1,000 visitors came to the newly launched business conference for the Swiss market. Further successful events followed, including the Programmatic Day with over 600 visitors and a highly frequented booth at the dmexco in Cologne. The 2017 financial year closed with a profit of CHF 18,926.

Expansion of the Executive Board and the Advisory Board

With the Annual General Meeting on April 18, 2018, the General Meeting appoints new members to the Board of Directors as well as to the Advisory Board. IAB Switzerland is pleased to be able to appoint Christian Hermle, Head of Group Marketing at AMAG Import, as a new customer representative on the Board. With a representative from the automotive industry, IAB Switzerland can ensure that the customer perspective continues to be meaningfully represented.

The Advisory Board will also be expanded. In the future, Gregor Doser, Industry Leader at Google Switzerland, will strengthen the IAB Switzerland. The focus of his work within the association will be the further development of the IAB Academy courses, in particular the management course.

IAB Academy

The number of participants in the Digital Marketing Diploma courses is steadily increasing. More and more professionals are being trained in digital marketing by IAB Switzerland and rely on the know-how of the IAB Academy experts from the field. In addition, in 2017 companies such as Credit Suisse, Raiffeisen, Ringier (Blick Group) as well as APG had their employees trained on the latest trends in marketing by the IAB Academy through in-house trainings. In total, there were 309 IAB Academy graduates last year.

Goals for 2018

For 2018, the main focus will be on data protection and revenue reporting in the digital advertising industry. In addition, the IAB Switzerland will continue to push the topic of viewability with vigor. The IAB focus group was not yet able to reach an agreement on this in 2017. However, the IAB has already initiated steps for further solutions.
