The Canton of Aargau is seeking a Director of Digital Transformation. This is a newly created position as part of the «SmartAargau» strategy.

The canton of Aargau is looking for a Head of digital transformation or a Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for the newly created "Digital Transformation" specialist unit. The person sought is expected to form a dedicated team of existing and new employees and "shape change" in digital administration, as the job advertisement states.

Other tasks include the master planning of digital projects in the cantonal administration, the implementation of measures for organizational and cultural development and the management of the project portfolio. Representing the Canton of Aargau in specialist committees and conferences at federal and cantonal level also falls within the area of responsibility.

Candidates for the position with a workload of 80 to 100 percent should have a higher education (Bachelor, Master, HF) in computer science, business informatics, social sciences, economics or engineering and several years of management experience in the field of digital transformation, data analytics, organizational development and/or project and programme management.

The canton is also looking for analytical, conceptual and organizational skills, a hands-on mentality and a good understanding of technical contexts in enterprise-level IT.
