Airbnb's growth has stalled in Switzerland

The growth of the controversial accommodation platform Airbnb in Switzerland has slowed significantly. According to *Zentralschweiz am Sonntag* and *Ostschweiz am Sonntag*, this is shown by the latest study from the Valais Tourism Observatory, which was released on Saturday.

While the number of rented properties more than doubled between 2014 and 2015, growth rates have been declining since then. The Observatory has been studying the development of Airbnb in Switzerland since 2014. There are currently 32,761 properties on offer in Switzerland. This is a good 3,000 more than in the previous year.

The website for Valais has the most accommodation for rent. The study also shows that Airbnb leaves the competition far behind. Other platforms do not even have half as many rental properties for Switzerland. (SDA)
