Second Swiss Digitaltag: Making digitization tangible
People are at the heart of digitalization
People are at the heart of digitalization. That is why dialog with the population is important. Digital Day picks up this dialog. On the nationwide day of action, experts will guide the population from person to person through the virtual world, answer questions and make digitalization and all its facets tangible.Marc Walder, initiator of digitalswitzerland, wants to make the positive energy of digitalization visible: "The aim of Digital Day is to show the population the opportunities of digitalization. Of course, we don't want to conceal the challenges. Dialogue with the population is therefore extremely important. We need an open, responsible digitalization culture in Switzerland that creates a positive environment. Digital Day should contribute to this."
Event grows significantly in size
The second Swiss Digital Day has grown significantly in size compared to last year's premiere. Around 70 companies and institutions - an increase of 60% compared to the previous year - are already taking part as partners alongside the main partners Google, Ringier, SBB, SRG and Swisscom.
Organizers are delighted with the momentum
Birgit Pestalozzi, overall project manager for Digital Day, is delighted with the great momentum: "More companies and organizations are constantly being added as partners. More and more cities and regions also want to actively participate. We have obviously hit the nerve of the times with the Digital Day, digitalization moves people, which is why we feel all the more committed to the Digital Day motto "experience digital together". Digital Day should be a day of action for all population groups throughout Switzerland and bring digitalization from the online world into the real world."
Campaigns in many major Swiss cities
During the entire Digital Day, a moderated program on seven different topics will be held at Zurich Main Station, which can also be followed live on YouTube. Other hubs are Geneva and Lugano. In Basel, Bern, Chur, Fribourg, Lausanne, Lucerne, Yverdon-les-Bains, Sion, St. Gallen and Vaduz, activities are planned around various thematic focuses, and the strong presence of French-speaking Switzerland is striking. Sébastien Kulling, Director of digitalswitzerland Suisse romande, sees clear reasons for this: "With its involvement in Digital Day, French-speaking Switzerland is proving that it can exploit the immense opportunities offered by digitalization to play a key role in Switzerland and the world. "The programme for the second Swiss Digital Day is being developed on an ongoing basis. The current status and the list of partners can be found at the following link: www.digitaltag.swiss
